NJ Renegades Mite & Squirt Scholarship Fund

May 12, 2009

The New Jersey Renegades are pleased to announce the creation of the New Jersey Renegades Youth Hockey Scholarship Fund. Scholarships will be awarded to youths 6-9 years of age, giving more youths a chance to learn the sport. Each scholarship will reduce the annual tuition by over 40%, lowering the mite and squirt season tuition to $1,500. Several parents of Renegades players found so much value in the Renegades program that they were inspired to endow this fund, which will extend the opportunity to join the Renegades family to more children in the community.

"Cliff founded the NJ Renegades 10 years ago, giving my son an opportunity to not only play hockey, but to be part of an organization that taught him such tremendous values that he is now carrying into his college years," says Joe Aihini, one of the original founders of the Fund. "This fund is a way for us to say thank you for all the Renegades have done for our family."

The fund is currently seeking sponsors; interested parties should send inquiries to Amy Graziano at Amy.G@njrenegades.net. The NJ Renegades are proud to call Aspen Ice of Flemington, NJ their home, and are holding an Open House for Mites and Squirts on May 12th from 5:45-6:45pm. The Open House is a unique opportunity for new players and their parents to come and meet current members of the Renegades and learn about the program.

All mites and squirts are eligible for the Scholarship. Mite tryouts are being held Thursday May 14th from 6-7pm. Squirt tryouts are Wednesday May 13th from 6-7pm as well as Monday, May 18th at 6-7 pm. For more information, please visit www.njrenegades.net, or email Cliff at CLIFF.JR@njrenegades.net.
