Forward #19 Nick DrizisThis past weekend the NJ Renegades swept the league leading Central Penn Panthers. The Renegades matched the speed of the Panthers and took it to them physically. Saturday's contest in Lancaster, PA saw the Renegades down 4-1 mid way through the 2nd period when they scored 2 quick goals before the period ended to make it a 4-3 game. Heading into the 3rd the Rens turned up the heat and scored to tie the game approximately 9 minutes into the 3rd period by forward Roman Andrejev. With about 8 minutes left in the game the Rens scored a short handed goal by forward Kevin Carter to take the lead 5-4. After shutting down the Panthers power plays and with their goalie pulled, the horn sounded and the Rens got the win. Assistant Coach Chris Ceransky stated "it was so good for our guys to get a win against a team like Central Penn, who has the best record in the league".

Game 2 in Flemington, NJ saw a scoreless 1st period before trading goals twice in the 2nd to make it 2-2. Before the 2nd period ended the Rens scored a goal to take a 3-2 lead into the locker room. In the 3rd the Rens scored 2 more goals by Nick Turcotte to seal the game. "Our guys have been playing better and better each week. The confidence is there, and we talked all week in practice how it's time for this team to show it's true colors, and I think this week by beating not only our division leaders, but the team with the best record in the Met League, makes a strong statement for the players and the program. Hopefully we can continue our 9 game winning streak, it's been a lot of fun", said Head Coach Cliff Graziano.
