D1 Bound

Congratulations goes out to a player I’ve known and coached since mites. Connor Tait is a 2001 birth year and I had the privilege to coach him full time last year as a Bantam Major Tier I player for Team MD. Although not a Renegade, he was coached by one! Connor is an outstanding player with size, power, speed, quick hands and a deceptive shot. He works extremely hard, is a great kid who deserves this in so many ways. Congrats Connor on your commitment to Quinnipiac University and their NCAA Div. I Hockey Team. – Coach Cliff

Thank You Alumni

I’d like to take the time to thank the alumni players that came back and played in the alumni game this past Friday Dec. 30th at Flemington Ice Arena. A lot of the boys only see each other once a year at this event and it was a real nice to see everyone and spend time before, during and after the game. On a side note, Team Rossi pulled out the win late in the game after trailing for the majority of the game. Jr coaches John Craig, Chris Tommins, Jack Geraghty and Cliff Graziano all scored at least 1 goal while head coach Pete Rossi was held off from the goal scoring, but Pete managed to set a record with 19 missed breakaways. All in good fun boys, wait till next year!

Rens Alum Tearing it Up in the NAHL

Longtime Renegade Jr player Austin Albrecht is enjoying his time in the NAHL, which is the only Tier II USA Hockey Jr League in the country. He is leading his Wichita Falls(Texas) Wildcats in Goals(17), Assists(21) and points(38) which also puts him in 4th place overall in the entire League. His Wildcats have also endured team success due to Austin’s play by recording a 23-5 record for 1st place overall in the very tough NAHL South division.

Renegades GM/Coach said “Austin really flourished in the two and a half years he spent in our Jr system. He is a loyal Renegade and a special person as well as a special player. We are extremely proud of what he is accomplishing and where he will end up.”

Austin will either commit to college or look to advance his Jr career for next season. When that happens we’ll be sure to update his situation.

Sharks Sign Defenseman Joakim Ryan
