Start of the Season Recap

As of Sat. Nov. 5th... Well, with training camp well behind us and the 1st 10 games in the books the overall record doesn’t look very good to the observer looking at the standings online, but Head Coach Cliff Graziano says “We are so very close.  It sounds cliche’, but outside of 1  game we’re in every game.  An OT loss, a Shootout loss, a few 1-goal game losses; we’re so close but yet so far”.

The team has suffered setbacks early in the season with 4 major injuries which in result hurt the overall depth of the team.  The players are working extremely hard on and off the ice in video sessions, drylands training, on-ice practice sessions, chalk talk education and games.  “Sometimes with a young group with a lot of players experiencing Jr hockey for the first time, it can take time to change your game in order to prosper at the Jr level says Asst. Coach Mike Wenzel.  Coach Graz and I played together in Jr’s for the Devils as well as in college at Penn State, we know what it takes, but it also doesn’t happen overnight.  It’ll come together like it always does.  We got a good group of kids here and they listen, work hard and are coachable. I can’t wait to see where these guys are at in March!”.

The Rens goaltending got off to a little bit of a slow start, but are now starting to pick up steam.  Aiden Gambone picked up his 1st Jr win in a 40 save effort vs the Philadelphia Little Flyers with a 5-1 victory on Oct. 23rd.

Some bright spots have been the play of 2nd year player Michael Gugliotta with 5 goals and 3 assists for 8 points in 8 games played; along with veteran Dylan Idland (Asst Captain) with 8 points in 10 games.  Cam Cherry (Captain), and Matt Murphy have each recorded 7 and 5 points respectively. As well as newcomer Jake Demacos has been a ball of energy and excitement with his speed and creative play.

Asst. Coach Connor Harrington who played for the Renegades back in 2012-2014 seasons added “These kids are so nice to work with. They don’t always know what it takes to reach a higher level of play.  I, as a former player, and under Coach Graz’s Renegades tradition always try and help these players on and off the ice so they gain a new perspective on what it takes to succeed."

Finally Coach Graz added “I almost always start out with a young team, and it can be frustrating for all of us early in the season, but when it finally comes together we are all so proud of the efforts we put into it.  Just like when we finally got our 1st win vs the Philadelphia Little Flyers on Sunday, the boys were so happy that they were now reaping the rewards of the fruits of our labor. I’m not saying there won’t be bumps in the road, but I predict good things coming to this group in the next few months.”

Rens Help Ukranian Hockey Equipment Drive

"Turning on CNN and other news channels and watching the devastation of Ukraine and invasion by Russia was very disturbing.  Upon signing a player of Ukranian descent and hearing the family’s stories of family and friends they still have over in Ukraine made it even more difficult.” Said Renegades Head Coach Cliff Graziano

“When reading that the junior hockey news posted that they needed help...

Jr Tryout Camp

“Last year our Team Maryland Jr program in the EHL held a combo Jr ID skate with our EHL Premier affiliate The NJ Renegades and it was a tremendous success. I found a bunch of players from that camp Aspen Ice Arena in Randolph, NJ. It’s a well run event where the players not only get scouted, but have a chance to meet the coaches from both programs and sit-down with them to talk about how our overall development plan will benefit every player.”

- Josh Fusco, Head Coach of Team MD

The Renegades Annual FREE Open House ID Skates provides players and their families an opportunity to come in and meet the staff and see what we do on and off the ice as a glimpse into our program.  The players are put into a fast-paced, high intensive workout followed by full ice games.  Then we will show them the facility, locker room, video room, hockeytv setup, etc... and hold a Question & Answer period with former players (alumni players and parents) to discuss the benefits of our program from the player/family/customer point of view.

This is a great way for all perspective players and their families to come in and check out our program 1st-hand and is a sure fire way to see that we are...

The hidden jewel of the hockey world!

Rens Mourn the loss of our hall of fame coach & friend

Our brother and fellow Renegades Alumni Coach Chris Ceransky passed away on Friday March 4th, 2022. It is a sad, sad day! The last 24 hours have been heartbreaking for all of us concerned for Chris and his family.

To his wife Sam Ceransky & Chris’s parents and extended family, we are all here for you. Please reach out if you need anything!

Topher Ceransky was like a little brother to me. He started coaching in our youth program then on to our Renegades Jr team. We coached together for many, many years with the Renegades, Turcotte Stickhandling, Team MD, and many other clinics, camps and lessons. He exemplified everything we wanted in a Renegades coach, but more importantly he was a true friend.

I, along with the many players he coached, coaches he coached with, and parents that reached out in the last 24 hours was an amazing support of our hockey family that Chris helped us build. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. I love you brother. He is and always will be a Renegade, and part of of our family.

Cliff Graziano Jr.

What is a Renegades Billet family?

It's a host family that takes in a Jr player in the age range of 16-20 years old, that needs a place to live for the 6 month Jr team season.

Billeted players assist with chores around the house, help your kids with their homework and their sports endeavors!

Any family that billets will get discounts on lessons, clinics, etc... please make sure to ask Coach Graz!

We ask for "Billet Families" to provide a clean, safe, family-friendly environment for our players, and in return, billet families receive a monthly stipend to cover food expenses for the players.

If you are interested in learning more about being one of our Billet Families, please reach out to Cliff Graziano at as soon as possible!

We are in need of a few more "billet," families for the upcoming season so if you are interested please let us know ASAP!

Thank you for your consideration to help further our players' futures and to build these life long relationships!
